OK chaps,

I know some of you have had these Enduro helmets for a while, what do you think of them ?

I've had mine for a couple thousand miles now and there are a couple issues - the screw that holds the removable peak is VERY easy to cross the thread (which makes you makes you less keen to take it off...) Also, there is a removal piece under the chin guard to reduce the upward draft... but it is far too tempting to carry the helmet from this, only to discover that it pulls out very easily leading to you dropping the helmet!

Those points aside... considering there is a peak, the wind noise isn't bad and the venting really helps reduce the lift when traveling at speed. Of course, there is the added benefit that you can take it off all together :thumb The visor is quite big which gives really good visibility as well and I think it will be good with goggles (the visor being removable) although I've yet to try it. The helmet also has a number of vents which helps keep things a little cooler inside as wel.

All in all, I like it - it's comfortable, very practical and, it looks cool

Vibes

the peak vibes at anything over 60 km/h ... and thats even behind the big adventure screen. You dont hear the vibrating too much normally (cause it drowned out by the wind noise that any enduro type helmet will give you), but when you wear earplugs to cut out the wind noise, the vibrating is all you get and its unpleasantly intense.

The peak though doesnt make your head want to rip off when you do lifesavers on the motorway. On that aspect its ok... its just the vibes that take some of the fun out of it

thanks for your feedback chaps. anyone tried it with just sunglasses or goggles in the hot weather weve had ?

Shades

Yep ... wear with sunglasses during the day time ... I like the breeze. Use the visor only in the evernings.

No problem.

lucker buggers, we dont get the enduro helmet in Aus - its not safe enough to pass the ADR (aussie design rules)!!

I would just like to look at one, the pics tht I have seen so far dont impress me much though, just dont like the shape.

Coming over to the UK in two weeks, maybe get to see one there.

Hay Ewe - got ya head screwed on?

I was going to possibly get one,but a mate (who will prob be along hear shortly) had one of the first and used it on our trip to Germany in May.

He said the fit was crap and the virbration awful. It also tries to rip your head off if you turn your head sideways at speed.

He's not worn it since.

I have a Shoei Hornet which I bought in Japan 5 years ago. It's totally vibration free, even at 130 mph indicated.

Shame it was never sold in UK and is now a tad tired.

Yep. That's me. The vibration/noise can be reduced by jamming a rubber spacer under the peak, in front of the plastic screw (on top). However, the helmet crushed my ears, and touring with one is too painful. I've reverted to a System IV.

how many days did it take you to find that it Crushed your ears ?????

dont it have hollow bits in at each side for your headset etc

did the Rubber plug lift the back of the peak higher???

just thinking of getting one as I have dropped my system 4 helmet and the tour x dont fit me head with my big Yoda like ears

I got one too done a couple of trips wearing it.Got the same problem with the chin skirt coming out so i've just removed it :thumb .Not got any problems with peak vibration but thats got nothing to do with the helmet it's the way your screens set up .No problems with looking over the shoulder either peak doesn't catch the wind.Really impressed with it nice and light comfortable with sun glasses too . Even better i paid £135 for mine

Pardon?

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I decided to go for it and get the Enduro lid, well I`m very happy and wished I'd got it earlier. Its not perfect, but having tried an Arai Tour X (friend let me try his), I didn't really get on with that, but the Enduro is great for me. It feels so much lighter than the Tour X. I very rarely go over 80 mph and its perfectly OK with only a little movement, which is what you might expect with a peak fitted, but its fine (I also have a System 5). I`m 5`11" and ride with the seat on its high position on my GS1200 adv and so far have found the best almost perfect position for smooth/minimal buffeting to be on the highest screen setting. I`m going to do the mod on the adjustment spacers tomorrow so it can go up another notch, although this may cause more turbulence, but its worth playing with.

I fitted the Baehr boom mike and speakers today, a little modification around the ear area to allow the speakers to sit lower and all is well. :bounce1 :thumb :bounce1 I must say, after reading a couple of neg reports I was expecting something bad and being disappointed, but so far, it is better than I had hoped :bounce1 and feels very comfortable. Well chuffed. :thumb

I certainly am not criticising anybody who may not like it, we are all different, but fortunately its OK for me.
