I have designed a pair of brackets that will allow any BMW airhead twin engine from 1950-1995 to be mounted on a standard automotive roll-about type engine stand. Once mounted your engine is suspended at a comfortable working height and can be rotated and flipped to any orientation resulting in the valves, oilpan, starter cover, timing chest, or flywheel chest pointing upwards making repairs and rebuilds very easy on your back. I produce these in the US, so I don't know what shipping will be to the UK. I will get an estimate if anyone is interested. I can also provide pictures of the stand in action. Cheers.

I'm actually a Yank working in SA for a year. As far as most of us know over there across the pond, the last airhead was round about '95. I never heard of the Kalahari until two weeks ago when I moved here. Have you got one to sell? I'm actually trying to find an R80GS for a little jaunt across this tiny continent. But my point is that you are correct. If I wrote it that way at home though, people would constantly write to me saying '97 is the age of the oilhead...

I can't post attachments, so I'll have to email the pic to you.

Hmmm... Looks like I can't PM either. The things I do to save 10 quid. But I will become a sponsor soon - this is a great site. In the meantime, if you want to see a pic, send me an email ([email protected])

No offense taken - that site is where I went to learn more about the Kalahari when I first learned of it. We're getting very off the topic of this thread... Cheers!
