hi folks,im going to west africa soon and contemplating buying the garmin world map, for my bmw navigator 111.i know its not that detailed but is prob better than my map reading at 60mph!! now has any body used it? is it any good? is it easy to install? is the units memory big enough to hold whats already loaded on it [western europe] and will there be space left for me to down load some music onto its mp3 player?
are there any other world maps out there that are compatable with the garmin unit?are they better/worse than garmins own?
thought i would ask the real experts before i asked garmin!!

There are other options...

By West Africa you don't specify exactly where... but there is a free Morocco map which is tons better than world map...

And these guys have a full world map that is also better... with a much lower cost AFAIK...

Funny you should mention that, for Morocco I wanted CN Ver 9, Morocco-Topo and SmellyBikers maps.
No matter what I did I could not get the three working. I contacted SmellyBiker and he made some suggestions
which didn't work. I decided to go with Ver 9 and Morocco-Topo. Pity really, I bought SmellyBiker's software
and couldn't use it.
I think any two of the three will work but not all three, at least not for me.

PS It was a Quest1 I was using.
