I have the bmw gps bracket that goes on top of the handle bar bolts, I also have the special bolts that you screw into the top of. My problem is I have bar risers so the bolts are too short. Does anyone know If I can get longer bolts with the female heads?

'Wunderlich Handlebar Riser 35mm No BMW Navigator - (Quick Find Code: 8500102)'

I appreciate that you are just looking for the bolts but if you can't get them on their own I got these, they worked fine with the bracket and came with the extended bolts that you screw into.

Presto

Jase,

Failing that there's a "Nuts & Bolts" firm in Uxbridge (bound to be one near you), just go in with one of your bolts and tell them you want one of those, only xx amount longer.........

54 Wallingford Road, Uxbridge is where they are. May have changed their name, but basically, if you want it, they should have it.

Need anymore help let me know :beerjug:

I have the same dilemma, I'm going to manufacture my own once I start my next career in Australia and have access to a lathe and milling machine with dividing head. For the moment I am using a Tomtom rider in a Touratech bracket, the old trusty Nav 2 is back in its box until I get the bolts made.

If you take your existing bolts to a small engineering firm and ask nicely, they might be able to make you a set of longer bespoke bolts based on the ones you have for a few quid in their tea boat (or a crate of beer), just be sure to ask nicely with a smile.

yeah

I tried that today but the guy just didn't have a clue what I was asking, he recomended that I go around the corner to a carparts importer:confused: so I smiled and put my helmet back on.

Thanks for the info Jase, top job and a good find mate. I've taken the liberty of posting your find below for the benefit of anyone else who needs a set to mount their BMW or Garmin bracket on the handlebars with a set of bar risers fitted.:thumb2

Just ordered my longer bolts for the handlebar risers with GPS bracket. For the benefit of others with this problem, the longer bolts are made by Wunderlich and can be bought from bmwbikebits.co.uk on 01483 456770.

A full set of bolts costs £10.65 inc p&p

For 25mm Risers: Part number 198-5020
For 35mm Risers: Part number 198-5010

Hope this helps.

Sorry Jase, didn't mean to steal your thunder, just trying to be helpful to others. :o
