Has a single fork seal done there. Firstly, told it was covered by warranty, so took it down. Called at lunch to be told it was all done: great, but wasn't covered by warranty: bad. Also that I was going to be charged over £170
Was I called to tell me that I'd have to pay, and did I want to continue? No. On top of that, did I also get charged for the other fork as well, even though the seal was intact? Yes. (I know that they are usually replaced at the same time)
Did I get a discount due to this? Eventually, yes, but they sounded like they were doing me a favour
, even though I had Which? on the other line just waiting to pounce.
So pick the bike up. Firstly the keys couldn't be found, then I notice that my tank cover is missing, then I see that the rubber grommits on top of the forks are missing and finally that the rubber sleeve along the front edge of the tank was not on properly! Priceless...... Do they train to get it this wrong, or is a natural talent?
Although, to be fair the blokes at the desk, were very polite and helpful as was their manager, so they did salvage some brownie points.
Will I go back: jury definitely out. Don't like having to pre-delivery check my own bike after a techie has had it for the afternoon...
