Read in the BMW newsletter there's a new tribute red and an urban camo.
The Recommended Retail Price of the GS Adventure is £13,200. The Tribute Paint, including red seat, is an additional £2,160 or £2,500 for the Urban Camo.

Bit pricey then...

I saw a red one in Williams Manchester yesterday when I was in for a service. It's VERY red. Not my cup of tea

Doesn't look difficult to achieve the same result yourself with a sticker kit.
Still if there's an opportunity for BMW to increase profits they are going to take it.

I'd be buying a standard version and taking a trip to see Mr Tunner I'm sure he would achieve a better result with the paint :thumb2

Be interesting to know if the tank is painted that colour or if it's an elaborate decal.

It's certainly not a difficult scheme to replicate though. I'd be inclined to dial the red back on the seats though, maybe just have red sides like the 1st series R1200GSA.

The green R9T is very nice. Over £2,500 extra for the specials with the fancy paintwork though.

Edit: The recommended Retail Price of the R nineT is £12,200 + £2,635 for the Individual Paint Package which includes: headlight, tank, black seat with coloured stitching and seat hump.

As with premium brand cars, there is more profit to be made in pimping/options than there is in the base vehicle/bike.

Just take a look at the new BMW 5 series - it's pretty easy to blow another £10k on personal options, the cost of which will get forgotten largely when it comes to trade-in. Sub premium, you just choose the model & trim line - what you see is what you get - the only option is colour.

Each to their own though - I quite like the urban camouflage, but surely this could be vinyl wrapped for a fraction of BMWs price.

They've had a Tribute GSA in NOG for a couple of months and the tank looks painted to me

whats it actually a tribute to ? so many "specials" appearing now that the basic bike is a more rarer option ,so buy one of these !

Seen this on eBay, I like red:D

Rather than introduce new paint designs, wouldn't they be better to introduce new paint -one that stays on more than 6 months after it leaves the factory ??

I asked BMW about these custom colours a couple of weeks ago and was told that they leave the factory as standard then go to a third party paint shop before going to the dealer and on to the customer hence the cost.
I reckon you could get your own desired scheme done for less the only thing it wouldn't have is warranty.

Well given that a BMW paint warranty seems to be worthless I think I'd rather trust the work to someone else!:augie

It's still in in NOG and it is all painted including the 1200 on the beak. I believe that the paint on the specials is done by 8ball who also did the Iconic models.

www.8ballcustompaintwork.com

It is a lot of money and I'd rather have my own design for individuality and cut out the middle man.

so what happens if there is a slight misshap out on the road and an insurance claim is needed, new panels not available from bm as they are painted by 8ball,at quite a premium?

Very valid point.

The Bike is on the BM uk website, not a one off special so it should be on the insurance database when you insure it. If it is then you premium will be slightly more but in the event of a claim it should be like for like.
