Went to Keary's on Saturday for the launch of the new GS1200 Adventure. Seems to be a whole new possie working there now. I was very disappointed with the launch. No test drive , no price on the bike and giving shit trade in deals. Don't think it would have happened if Mark Henry or Alan O'Connor were in charge.

Prices

AR 14 in Joe Duffy's was still waiting on BM to announce the prices at lunchtime on Friday.

Gave me a price on the QT but didn't know if it was the factual price or not.

Price

To be fair Keary's cant give a price if they don't know it...I can see where you are coming from but my rant would be directed at BMW for not giving a price for Ireland on the new R range.

I call into Keary's now and then for parts etc and have found them very good to deal with....always get a phone call when my parts arrive and are always happy to see people like me call in just for a coffee and a look at the bikes.

It wasn't that long ago the nearest BMW dealer was in Dublin and I am happy to have one in Cork, but not only have one but a good one.

Just my view:aidan

I suppose it's agreed they couldn't give a price if they didn't have one to give. :nenau

...and giving shit trade in deals.
Can you tell what they offered you and for what ? Second hand bikes are cheap now, just look at DoneDeal.
I suppose they can't pay more for a bike than what they'd get for it, I thought most people were happy with them.
But you're entitled to your opinion and to deal elsewhere.:thumb2

You can please some of the people some of the time but you cant please all of the people all of the time:D
I think there fine to deal with there alot better than one or two of the previous staff.Thumbs up from me:thumb2

Just a thought!!! What didn't they get the bikes in, get them registered, get the brouchers and prices and launch the bikes this Saturday.A week isn't long to wait if you're willing to spend 18 - 20k or whatever the price may be.
Personally I had no problem with the old staff down in Cork , just don't know the new ones yet.
Good to have a BMW SHOP in Cork but BMW pride themselves on being professional and thats why they can charge the money they do.
In my opinion, this time they didn't get it right:augie

Back on topic

Just happened to speak with a friend who was at the launch on Saturday and got a full price list on the new gs:eek

He was there in the afternoon and they had it on request, maybe BMW only gave them the price that day because from what I know of the staff in Keary's everyone would be treated the same.

The more I think about this the more BMW not Keary's seem to be the ones to point the finger at.

In an unrelated topic I had a problem with my surprise surprise final drive on my gs which I'm sure we can agree that BMW are to blame and Keary's couldn't do enough to sort me out.:thumb
