Hi All

I've been a silly boy....

Went for a ride on my 1150 GSA with the BMW ally metal panniers attached, and I hadn't screwed the internal wheel-nut that grips the pannier clip on (this is the clip with a thread that goes around the pannier bar and a protruding thread goes through the hole in the pannier).

Anyway, the nut came loose insude the pannier and the pannier clip fell off (the near side pannier).

Oops.

Anyone got one for sale or know where I might be able to source one from?

Fleabay hasn't been much cop when I've looked over the last few days.

Thanks!

I just go to BMW for all the little bits. It means you get the right bit and most stuff isn't too expensive.

My local dealer even posts things out free gratis if they don't have them in stock. Try em.;

I did the same thing a few years bike on a European tour.

Got a replacement from my dealer when I returned. Quite cheap to if I remember correctly.

Or just don't bother replacing it.

Lost one of mine 3 years ago and another one last year, (never learn, me) and have used them ever since without any problems, including riding as many gravel passes as I've been able to find on various Alps trips. Just sealed up the holes with bathroom silicone so the boxes stay waterproof.

Thanks all for your responses!

Think I'll give one a go and if I lose it, will take the bathroom sealant option...!

No great loss if you don't replace it, I fitted them once only but that is it!

I bought a set of the clamps when I bought the bike new in 2003 but as I have to fit / remove the panniers everytime I use it (which is everyday when using it for work) I don't bother with the clamps so they sit on the shelf in the garage unused. I put a small grommit in the hole so they remain waterproof.
