Hi everyone!!,

I have a '06 BMW R1200 GS bike and the bike has its first MOT due in September.

Can any of you recommend a good MOT test centre for my BMW MOT needs in the London area (within M25)?

Kind Regards
Bernard :)

Not sure what part of London you are in but i have used London MOT centre in Oval, south london. friendly chaps

London area? within M25? are you seriously asking for recommendations in that whole area?

somewhere round Purley ought to be able to sort you out :nenau

where do you have it serviced? ask them?

Yellow pages :nenau

BuMW Battersea did mine yesterday without cocking it up.

No doubt within the M25 there are others (indeed I know there are)....

What do you mean by "good MOT centre" ?

Do you mean one that turns a blind eye (few and far between). No idea.

Or one that applies all the rules (the rest). Any MOT centre will do; they are two-a-penny !

Or one that can do any MOT failure rectification work? Go to where you normally go for servicing.

I'm an MOT inspector in Tonbridge and it's past:D. .... But if you do want to sort any problems out give me a call on 07850 84455three and I will go through the do's and don't to get it through or if you down this way let me have a look and if its goodish I'l pass it :)

I'm sure that I saw a post a while ago where someone took their GS for an MOT and the tester failed it because the front forks didn't dive! :blast
It may be worth checking if the tester has ever tested a GS (or other duolever BM) just in case.

TWAT REPLY

So the only twat reply to a genuine question from a relatively new biker was from a moderator, Dahoum. Thought I'd left all the twats behind on the Guzzi forum, .................................obviously not.
Well done Dahoum for promoting new bikers to ask questions.
Ride safe peeps,

MOt friendly

Hey Bernard, failing all else I lived in south London for 35 years and a known good place for Mot's was Pearsons cycles in Sutton Surrey. I know they were still doing them about 5 years ago. Look them upin the phone book. In the high street which is now pedestrianised, so you gotta be there for 10am
and cant pick bike up till 4 pm. Never had a fail there, even passed a CZ125 with no drive chain, (broke on the way, so I pushed it there !)

mot's

I have used two stations over the last 10/12 yrs Classic Runners St James Rd Croydon (next to Aprillia and Moto Guzzi) Strict but good, The last two MOT's
on my GS have been carried out at the PTA motoring center West wickham minor adjustments carried out FOC both will require advanced booking if you require a Saturday Pete

Mate - you're being a bit strong here...chill dude

Somewhat to my surprise, I can't find a listing of motorcycle MoT centre on the VOSA website.

However, there must surely be hundreds in London that each operate to the exacting standards laid down.

Perhaps SpitFire can explain what was behind his question.

WindyChuffer, if you cant rely on the moderators to give an honest reply then you got nowt mate.
I ride 365 and promote biking to all, regardless of make or type.
Remind me why we have "moderators" on this site ?

I think Dahoum gave an entirely honest answer and contained good advice.

You then responded under the heading 'TWAT REPLY'. Maybe you've had a bad day; a row with your SO or perhaps that sort of blind vulgarity is the norm on the Guzzi site. But here it'll get you short shrift - at least until you've been around long enough to understand others and for others to understand you.
