BMW Motorrad Preston (Bowkers)

I've just heard a rumour that Lloyds (Carlisle & South Lakes) may open a Motorrad dealership, possibly in Blackpool. How true this is, I've no idea. :nenau
My experience of Lloyds in Carlisle are they are expensive when it comes to changing bikes and given that they will then almost certainly get your service business and repeat customer they are very much “Take it or leave it “ Very sad for the staff at Bowkers. It’s a tough world out there now and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better for a long time.

Well, like all things in life, different folk get to feel different.....I've had 7 bikes from Lloyds in recent years ( six BMW and one Honda)......Steve and Anthony have always been fair and honest , I've only had one issue and that was addressed professionally by Steve with a very satisfactory result........in past years I've not had the same level of customer satisfaction with Dalkeith or John Clark Dundee..............flip the coin and see where it lands.........

I use them but they've pissed me off in the past, Steve especially. Turned down a warranty claim for defective switchgear and implied that because I'd fitted hand guards, they'd somehow allowed water into the factory switchgear. Seriously pissed off at this so went and called BMW who reversed this and told them to replace the switchgear. I asked Steve who was the decision-maker to reject the claim initially. He then turned round and, after a brief pause, admits that it was him. Yeah, so I'm sorry but yes, they are expensive in there and I don't think they look after customers as well as they could all the time.

Further to my last post about Lloyds possibly opening a dealership in Blackpool, I've just heard this snippet:

Following a Lloyds meeting today, they are opening BMW Motorrad at the Mini centre in Blackpool.

Not sure how true it is, but I've no reason not to trust the source.

I remember going to the grand opening of that Mini centre. Back then, it was the UK’s first stand alone Mini showroom. I wonder if Mini is going to be chucked in the car showroom? 🤔

Williams Manchester shares the car park with a Mini Garage next door. Halliwell Jones have Bmw cars and bikes in the same showroom , maybe its the new model.

Probably hoping for some cross selling as well as reducing overheads.
Which is fine until you get a car salesman trying to sell you a bike without a scuby do

Lloyds have stated opening in 2026 on their Fb page

Looks like we now know what is going in the old showroom.

I’ve heard that Lloyds in Blackpool are opening Lloyds Motorrad from sometime in January so, thankfully, there will be a BMW dealer nearer than Williams in Manchester
