BMW Nav IV

28th August. My dealer said it would probably be first week Sept.

Anyone know when the BMW Navigator IV will be hitting the shelves in the UK ?

Had Navigator IV fitted to my new GS at the 600mi service, last Tuesday in Dundee. Looks good, very thin. I've moved it an inch or so left today, as it obscured the tach in the centre position they prefer. I like it.

They did mention they are still pretty hard to come by, though.

Shame BMW decided to remove the connection for the Traffic system.

Also, the audio output via the wired harness is mono only, forcing you to use BT for stereo.

Seems they know better and have neutered the 660 to what they think is appropriate for bike riders :rob

£565 does not include the fitting kit which ships with the standard Zumo 660.

It wasn't the cheapest thing I've had fitted to a motorcycle. In fact, other than the rider, it was the most expensive thing I've ever fitted to a motorcycle. Looks nice, though. Off to Ullapool tomorrow for lunch, to try it out...

BMW Navigator £565 or Zumo 660 which can be bought easily for £440 or less.

The Navigator has similar hardware buttons to my wife's 550 - and she has never found out what they are for as the functions are available on the touch screen, as they are on my 660. Also they are functions I have rarely found a use for while driving anyway. Maybe that's why Garmin didn't bother with them on the 6 series.

So you gain four buttons you don't need. What else? A list of BMW dealers that you can download from the web for free anyway, no input for traffic receiver (not essential on the bike but I have one for car use and it has been useful on the bike), no hard wired stereo output so Autocom users will have to buy expensive stereo BT units.

Tough choice

Any pictures of it mounted? I ordered mine today and I'm not sure if I'm going to need the 56 quid's worth of mounting hardware for it or if I can adapt my existing RAM mount.

A month later and that seems to be no longer the case. I ordered one today and Alan in parts tells me I should be able to collect it on Saturday morning.
