So got the Navi VI .. lovely.

So get to turn it on and it all works etc then I charge it and thats al fine.

Then I try get it on the bike and the screen is non responsive and nor does the controller wheel have any effect on the unit. It doos recognise the Navi is present but I can't get any inputs to the device either via screen or controller wheel. The Screen is Select location, UK is highlighted but the button is grey.

I've pulled battery, tried to reset the screen, etc etc .. no luck.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Steve

Thanks .. trying to reinstall maps ... but would like to reset to factory ... but cannot since screen non responsive. Is there another way to reset to factory?

Whilst I haven't got a fix for you, I was wondering whether the contacts on the unit or mount are dirty & have corrupted things?

IIRC, on my old Nav IV reset was achieved by pressing down the on/off button for 8 seconds. Release, then turn on again. Is this the same for a VI?

Weirdly when I try that the unit basically switches off and restarts and gets me back to where I was :|

Thanks for ideas guys

Perform master reset on a BMW Motorrad Navigator V/VI

Note: A master reset may erase all favorites1 and will restore your device to the default factory settings. If you would like to back up your favorites to your computer, see related content below:

To perform a master reset on a BMW Motorrad Navigator V/VI device:

Start with the device off and unplugged from power
To verify the device is powered off and not in standby mode, touch and hold down the power button until prompted to turn off the device
Touch and hold the lower right hand corner of the display portion of the touchscreen
Power on the device
"System" will appear on the screen for approximately 30 seconds
Remove your finger when the screen displays Loading...

The device will automatically reset. Follow the on screen prompts to set your locale and then place your device in an area with a clear view of the sky until it acquires satellites.

1Although the master reset may erase all saved favorites, any loaded custom points of interest will remain intact on the device.

Yep frustratingly I get it to reset and this gets me back to the locale setting ... gets me to UK, but I cannot select OK. Either with bike control wheel (I assume its a push to the right?) and screen remains unresponsive. The manual says to reset an unresponsive screen is to shut down and then restart holding top left of screen. This has no effect. Unit restarts back to the locale setting ... not accepting any input.

I had the same issue. Screen unresponsive Just under a year old. Took it to the dealer who swapped it for a new one.
