Bought a set of these to fit my mates 1200gs 2009 , usual flea bay no fittting instructions, Ive got a hardware list but it would help to see some close up photos of these on a bike and any advice on fitting would be useful.
Think i have a part missing (u shaped spacer holder) no.13 on diagram, wtf do these go and do i really need them ?

Bracket fits on the lower front mount. Need something if not that as a spacer.
Added some pics hope it's a bit clearer.:thumb

Thanks matey, how the feck do you tighten that nut going in to the engine block ?

Put it on first and use a Torx bit socket through the hole where the other nut/bolt will go. Then fit the bars/bolt and again socket but an open ended spanner on the nut side.
Where the side bars fit the center bar there are two rubber "o" rings and alloy spacer think parts 5 & 6 usually still on the bars if used before.

cheers for that , once last query, what is spacer gap size, ie. am thinking of getting one long bolt through the bar with a standard metal spacer and wondering what length the spacer would need to be to take up slack between bar and engine block .Hope that makes sense

Not to sure will try and look this weekend see if I can borrow some calipers to get in there.
I think looking at it, that the U bracket is designed to take some of the strain if you "try out the bars" and give a little. If you bolted straight to engine may result in damage to engine case. Having said that I'm sure my old SW engine bars were mounted solidly. See it the bits are available from BM, never know may be the not to expencive

Im sending them back for a refund, too many bits missing.
The bit that attatches to the frame mount is just a hollow tube ?????, ie doesnt attatch at all just sits in recess , that cant be right ???.

It does indeed just slot in. I was surprised when I fitted mine, but they're fine when attached with the next door bolt (with U spacer)
