I'll be there as well :thumb I'm also having a road session on the Sunday (still count myself as a learner :o )

Jimbo - what nights are we booked in to the Abercrave? Did you want a lift down?

Mav

mav we're booked in at the abercrave for thursday and friday might! cheers for the offer of a lift but I've got to get back sharpish on saturday so i'll be driving down.

I'm booked in for the level one course on the 25th and 26th May.
Never done any off road so I definitely opted for the 650 as it will be lighter to pick back up, time and time again.
I think I will be spending a bit of time on my ass :D
Anyone else there the same weekend ?

Oh and definitely taking my car, a mere 300 and odd miles home seems to me to make more sense than risking having to ride my bike home with some physical damage to myself after these 2 days

I'm booked for those dates as well, so see you there mate :thumb Never done any offroading and booked on 1200gs:eek:

level one course

hi everyone
I am booked on the level one course on the 2/3june just wondering if anyone else from here will be there that weekend, also on the question of boots I wear altberg all weather hoggs , does anyone know if these are suitable for the course
Thanks Hovis:beerjug:

Hi Hovis.

They are much more serious about boots these days and only let you on with MX style boots (they've had a few broken ankles). You need to hire/borrow a pair otherwise you risk being not allowed to take part.....

(bollocks)

It's going on Ebay tomorrow morning unless someone wants it.

Hey Hey Dave,
Good stuff! Is Heff going too? You're both braver than me and Derm! You'll have a great time. Now all you have to do is learn how to pronounce the name of the place where it is! We were told that "I strangled Alice" is near enough :P AND I tried it on a welsh nanny who attended my music groups the other day...AND SHE KNEW WHERE I WAS TALKING ABOUT!! :bounce1
What a great way to celebrate that rather significant birthday coming up! Good on ya!!
See you at the GOTC.....
Hi to Heff,

THIS WEEKEND

I am booked in this weekend anyone else going?:Motomartin

could be interesting in the snow!!

13 - 14 May Course

Nice piccies, anybody else headed down on 13/14 May....?

Hiya - yep, i'm booked on the 13/14 May course - and having spent my first hour of browsing this subject as a newbie am thinking "Oh my God what have I done?!"

Since I'm riding a GS12 I thought it made sense to use 1 for the course - lets hope so, I can't wait! At the mo I plan to ride up as opposed to driving - anyone else from my area going up on the Sat'dy p.m??

I've booked their boots and trousers - but I wonder if I should be thinking about replacing my lid too instead of using a Shoei Astro??

Now going to look at the rest of the pics to scare myself even more:eek:

ive booked their boots but have tuareg kit so guess should be ok i alo am debating on the lid thing as i have a flip lid which is great but i dont want to bin it so am thinking along the lies of old hjc in the garage any advice anyone?
i am riding a 650gs and asked for the new x cross but had been all allocated so offered gs12 but decided as the course involves lots of picking up and slow speed the 650 is easy to handle but as everyone says most people:eek: chop and change anyway???

got back last night brillant weekend but i ache all over the instructors are awesome riders but i was behind Nick Plumber when he binned it on a slippery slope their only human.
what out for the x challange as its very tall and i am 6ft and lost my footing several times with it.
Those brand new bikes we had are not so new now!!!!
there were a couple of break down and 1 guy managed to break 2 master cylinders on 2 1200gs but hes ok.
You will fall off just get out the way of the bike first as it does hurt.

but most of all its fun and the ride home was 1 hours less and brilliant if a littlke tiring!!!
