BMW or Wunderlich tank bag

Have to say I like Baglux, but obviously you've got to accept the tank cover thing. Not really the question you asked though is it :blast :D

the bmw tank bags are good, but do have drawbacks. the big one is er, big, and a bit of a sod to get the front strap fitted on a GSA.

that's how come i bought the smaller bmw bag, which is a better fit on a GSA and extends to a reasonably useful size, but then i find it gets in the way of the rider slightly. i was going to sell the big one, but i think i'll hang onto it, so it must be pretty useful.

both are waterproof. both would benefit from external pockets for change etc. both have a detachable :ymca bum bag that is very :ymca but incredibly handy.

when i first considered changing the beemer bag, i nearly bought a TT waterproof bag as now seen on LWR, possibly the best of the bunch, but if you get the nice bits to go with it like the water camelback type thing, gadget holder top bit, the price gets extortionate. then there's my inbuilt reluctance to buy anything from TTUK so they lost out on £290 right there :P

compared to that they do.

I am not a fan of the tank covers so that puts the Baglux out. I also looked at the TT bag, but it is really quite small and expensive, and the extras that I want add to the price again.

I thought the BMW bag looked pretty good and I am leaning towards that one, I have never seen the wunderlich one so was just looking for a opinion on that.

So it looks liek the BMW one then.... Cheers guys!

If you still use maps the BMW map carrier is a pain because you have to constantly refold maps as its too small.
You then have to pay those nice people at Touratech for a larger replacement map pocket

On the 12GSA the BMW one good if you are touring. Very good waterproofing without having to mess around with seperate covers.
Problem I found was it was quite far back and made Standing on the pegs very difficult (which is a bigger issue than I would have thought).

So I sold mine of Ebay.

I use a Handlebar Bag for small stuff (phone, coins etc) and the top box for everything else.

map pocket on original big bag is terrible. narrow & curved so you can't get a folded map in easily. newer, smaller bag has sensible shaped map pocket.

BMW bag

I bought a BMW tankbag recently and used it last week through France and Spain. Yes, it is a bit fiddly getting the front hook on especially with cold fingers! But it worked well when you get the hang of it and for me was an ideal size.

I bought the one advertised on E-Bay under 1200GS for £80 odd quid, Famster or something similar fits well yet to try it out, cheaper than BMW, SW Motech etc.

baglux bag is good but if your going off road the bag is far to low and stops you getting near the handle bars.:)

bmw

Ive had the BMW tank bag for a year now, build quality good and you can get shed loads in.Used only for touring etc.
