bmw panniers are made by touratech!!

why does everybody rave on about the touratech ones being much better quality than the BMW ones if they're both made by the same people?!?!?

Touratwat don't sell the Beemer ones to Joe Pubic only to BMW

They sell thier Zega ones in their shop which are completey different:thumb

i know the design of em is different, but dont understand why everybody sees the BM ones as being crap.. they're not the traditional design, but still made by touratech. oh well...........

The BMW ones aren't crap.

Mine have been faultless for 18 months from new-it's just that it is supposedly thought cool by some oddballs on here to buy alternative panniers.

Why buy the BMW/TT originals, desgined for the bike with an ignition-coded key when you can buy something else that looks like a sewing machine box/filing cabinet/dust bin ?

Beats me.

Then again the same people happily spend £800 on a Twat Suit.

I have been to the Touratech factory a few times and the TT team will tell you that they aren't really suitable for a true adventure. They are too easy to damage and difficult to fix when you are at the back of beyond. However as most never do any serious off road adventure type stuff they are perfect.
I have had BMW 1150GSA Aluminium, Touratech Zegas and Metal Mule panniers but love the look of the BMW (Touratech) ones and that is what I would stick on a 1200. Saying that I'm not convinced I'd ever have a 1200. :hide

Davie.
