Hi all, Have been looking at the standard aliuminium Bmw panniers as my gsa has the frame already on and have been quoted £600 for them. Now my question is are they as good as metal mule and others or is it worth trying another make and just buying new frame for them. Any advice much appreciated.

make your self a pot of tea and a sandwich take the phone of the hook click the search button type in panniers sit back for a few hours and enjoy a good read:thumb2 it took me about an hour the other evening loads of info

Thanks Brewster, Gone for the BMW ones due to the fact of the bike already having the mounting frame on. Picked bike up yesterday and been riding all weekend in the rain with a large grin. Roll on tomorrow.

They havent said anything about the extra brackets yet. I know they have a key lock to secure them if thats what you mean. But if they dont then I will give you a shout as more security is a unfortunate must.

Cheers Jef

BMW panniers are the business- I live out of them- just try not to force too much into them as they dont close properly! and let the rain in! oh yes and put everything you need for the road (map, goggles etc.) in the topbox as you canny open the other panniers on the move!

ive gone for the BMW ones after half the people saying they were shite and half saying they were great. One thing everyone said is that the aluminium pits especially when the roads are salty. Get them laquered and youll have shiny panniers forever!

Thanks for all the replies, Should pick them up next week whilst bike is in for its first service. Now where to go travelling first...
