What’s the likelihood of them flying open or falling off in use?

We are on road for our upcoming trip but that catch seems maybe not as secure as it could be.

Can always fit a strong leather belt around it, wont look out of place with that golden age era of bike. :D

I was thinking of them, but forgot their name.....Rok straps, cool, yup that will work. :D

Like wearing braces and a belt, for that extra safety.

I use Rok ever since I read about them on here. There are so many options and sizes and they are really top. Bung in the washing machine after trips to clean
They are used to attach my roll bag on the back on the passenger seat

If you have keys (which is rare on these early flat lock latches) always lock to the frame and at least one latch.

No keys, but I do have these

Used to strap and lock Mosko Moto and
Kriega soft bags on, looks like they will be ideal here too.

I will bung a couple of roll straps on board too, as I’ve a roll bag going on the back seat
