Purchased a 2017 BMW R1200GS LC Adventure and had it delivered from Sunderland. Gave it a clean and noticed the rear indicators are different??

Which is correct? Not very pleased.

They look the same to me, or are you saying that they are different to something else?

On the standard GS they are the same both sides, on the GSA maybe the right hand one is like that to clear the OEM pannier frame ?

If it’s a BMW marked part I’d guess it’s original

I didn't notice it but now you have pointed it out, it would bug me....

It won't be covered under the BMW warranty, but I imagine that they'll happily replace just part of good customer service.

The sales team probably never noticed in fairness.

Last photo correct ,both indicators have the longer stems on mine .

My 2022 GS has the shorty/ flush units on both sides

Just checked real oem for the GSA 01/17 & 12/17

The flush units are fronts , and the long arm units are the rears

Interesting for the 2017 GS - they reference that the long legged units must be fitted if using ally cases

That's great. Thanks for the help.

I seem to recall this subject has been up to debate before. And someone claimed that the GSA has the longer stem in order to move it slightly rearwards in order to improve the ability for visibility from sideways view since the GSA is equipped with the racks for alucases as standard.
Seems to also recall the mentioning of it being an EU requirement....

If OP's bike has probably been subject to a damaged signal light at some time in the past....

As above. Just checked my bikes. GSA longer stem and GS shorter.
I'm a clumsy loaf and these things seem to made from chocolate so easy to snap off, that's probably why you've got a shorter one. I've fitted the wunderlich protectors and that's saved any damage a few times brushing passed. If you dont fancy the hefty price I think I've seen the made in china versions on e bay and would probably do the job.

Gs short stem front and rear, gsa short stem front and long stem rear

Ps would not expect anything less from Mill/Coopers/Vertu

Ofcourse the other option is the company transporting the bike snapped off an indicator and replaced it with a new or pattern part

That did cross my mind however I checked the video Vertu sent me and it shows the indicator difference. They've booked me at Wolverhampton BMW on Saturday to have correct one fitted.

Another thing that pissed me off... My first ride on the bike, went to garage rolled went to roll it off centre stand and wouldn't budge!! Front calipers seized solid! Took them off and both were orange and white with rust and salt!! So much for the full mechanical check! All is no well now I've cleaned and sorted them. The new used bike experience leaves a bitter taste!

I have had nothing but sh*te service from said dealership when they were MILL, COOPERS and then VERTU, so much so that rather than drive 30 miles South to use them I travel 90 miles North instead (they lost sales of 4 new bikes to the other dealership, over £60,000 plus servicing )

If the bike was sold to you via the Approved Used Scheme make damned sure you get the warranty paperwork for the 2 year cover, on the 3 year old F800GSA I bought from them in 2020 they 'forgot' to pay BMW the £500 for the warranty and then lied to me about it when the thing sh*tted its engine at 10,500 miles (I had done less than 600 miles) and just paid for a them for a full service . First they said it was not sold via Approved Used, then claimed it was covered and then blamed BMW , it just went on and on

BMW UK advised them to put a new engine in (£7000 plus) at their own expense and then they were supposed to give me a free service, however , when it was due they had just become VERTU and they declined to honour the agreement , so I sold the 800 and bought a KTM 1090

IIRC those indicators were very easily snapped off !

Saw a bloke do 2 in two days just bruhing past them so, and again IMO if they have been snapped off accidentaly at some point prior to it being traded in etc and then replaced this could be the issue and really it isnt a biggie is it

Not a Biggie at all however I know it's wrong and my OCD wo t allow me to put up with it. Every Time I look at the bike it states at me! Some things just need to be right especially when paying lots of money.

Yes all these dealer's claiming their bikes are fully mechanically inspected & 50 + checks etc etc, I would have thought a Bmw main dealer would be the exception
to the rule .
I can remember many years ago I bought a used bike from a dealer who was giving me the sales patter about their bikes are fully checked etc, got the bike home gave it a good look round & check over , found out the final drive oil was dangerously low, then had a look at the check list it said " chain adjusted & lubed" bikes not even got a chain it's shaft drive !.
