Hi All , I have a BMW 80gs Bumblebee ( 1994 ) and am looking to do a deal on either and early 70's Moto Guzzi Ambassador or a mid to late 70's Moto Guzzi California . The BMW is currently in storage in Todmorden , Lancashire , it has approximately 44,000 kms / 27000 mls and was imported from Germany several years ago . Unfortunately all the documentation is with the bike , but I can get more info if or when there is any interest . It was bought before Covid for a trip to Nordkapp with my oldest Son . . . which didn't happen due to Lockdown . I now want to do a trip with my best and oldest friend ( who has a '75 Harley Davidson FLH ) to celebrate 25 years since we travelled to the Libyan Sahara . Thanks Glenn

Good luck with the plans Glenn. I can't speak for the riding experience on a V7 yet, mine is a project currently and I've not had time to go through it. I have owned a T3 California though and that was a great bike. Mine was rough looking but mechanically and electrically sound (most of the time), and great for long distances.

These days either bike will depend upon condition, what's been replaced / updated, how well it was done and whether there are any essential things left to attend to. If your happy to spend a lot of time on the bike, going through it and potentially spending a fair bit of "sorting money" on it, you should have a gem. My V7 is in the queue in the shed for re-plating the barrels, complete Greg Bender loom rewire and various other bits and bobs. Already had the obligatory oil changes, tyres, brake shoes ...... the list goes on. If you can afford it buy one thats been gone through already (some people asking silly money though) - but then check it over to make sure there are no impending issues. As always, beware the pretty paintjob - a show pony which isn't ridden much (or far).

Thanks Graham , There are two on E-*ay at the moment ( V7's ) at around £3000/£3500 last time I looked with a couple of days to go and another one at around £7000 + . No California's at the moment - both being sold this week at £4500 and £6000 respectively . I have looked at a British Registered California in Spain , unfortunately getting it back is costly . I've got a fair bit of time to get one and " sort it " , ideally a deal on the BM but if necessary sell it and buy a California or V7 . I'm in the same boat with other restorations in the pipeline but I think I will have to bite the bullet and move them on , so that I concentrate on sorting the new to me bike . All The Best with the V7 restoration Glenn

Yes Graham I've just bid up to £4250 - I think someone really wants it as there's someone out bidding me ! Looking at the other one in Llangollen which is closer to where I live . I am the highest bidder . . . so far at £4200 although it does have five days to go ! Any recommendations on where to buy spares , accessories and service items would be appreciated .

Can see that it may demand a significant price ! The bikes near me so if you do manage to get it I can help if you need a local hand.

Spares places for old V7s is not great in the uk - Gutsibits for a few things. TLM in the Netherlands maybe but more specialist stuff in the US - I’ve used Harpers and Crusty Cycles. Theres Cycle Garden too. There’s a few folks in Italy I’m connected to through FaceBook. Once you have a bike I can look up the details and let you know

Hi Paul , All good mate - hope you're keeping well .

As usual Charley and Ewan have beaten me to it ! pushing the price up . . :DD

I agree, that will indeed affect prices. On the upside, the bike in your avatar should be worth more, too.
Yup my old 60/5 . . .It was the same when The Bikeriders came out , Harleys of a certain age went up in price .:cautious:
