Hi All,

I'm looking to sell my R1100GS. I got it in November 2003, to go alongside my R9T. February this year I got a 2018 R1200GSA and I haven't used it since. I considered using it as a work horse for London meetings and winter etc, however I just got a C400X scooter for that.

1997 BMW R1100GS
79,000 Miles
ABS
Factory Heated Grips
Service History (last serviced when I bought Nov 2023)
MOT until 12th Nov '25, its done less than 100m miles since.
I overhauled the front brakes last year, new discs, pads, calliper rebuild kit and master cylinder piston kit.
Tyres have plenty of tread
Has a Dominator exhaust (standard one supplied with it)
ADV grippy foot pegs
Engine Bars
Panniers (keyed alike)
3 Keys

Located in Guildford, Surrey

The bike is mechanically sound, but visually tatty in places, for instance a previous owner has painted silver components black and there is a patch of silver coming through. Screen has some cracks around the mounting area, tank could do with a proper polish etc. Please see the images below. Starts off the button.

Putting this here first, looking for £2,000 ono.

Open to offers on this, just taken the Dog to the vets and the poor thing needs some teeth extracting.... They estimate £1,500 - £2000 .....

Having animals is like a PCP... Regular payments and never ending... Another decent 11GS ... Sadly now neglected for some modern shite...😂🤟
As above, a grand genuine well engineered machine, at small money unwanted in favour of modern stuff.

I've got a near identical R1100GS, advertised it but barely a sniff.
These are a good GS to have, by 1997 they had the steel tank and M97 gearbox with the early oilhead gremlins sorted out.
Difficult to think of a better bike for £2k or a bit less. Just out of fashion I guess ?
GLWS.

And sadly not in fashion for a long time but an iconic turn in GS history... My old battle bus is going into the list of 100k miles bikes of which there are plenty. I recently for just buggering about sake, looked in the bores with an scope to find you can still see the honing marks...😂👍
Still my benchmark on the balance and handling through those twisty roads... I only get passed on the straights by all the latest bikes as straights are boring...😆👍

Apart from the airheads this is my favourite looking GS.
Did 180K on mine with 1 overhaul from Mikeyboy.
It would be interesting to ride one now, after 100K on my TC, just to see if my memories are correct 😀

Poor Dog had her Teeth out yesterday. GS is still here :ROFLMAO: tbh, I won't sell it below £1,500, so it's clearly not going anywhere!
