Hi Guys new to the forum but need help with a possibly seized engine. The bike has been stood a while lights come on with ignition and starter tries to engage engine but just clunks. I then put it into first gear no movement from back wheel on trying to turn wheel with the plugs out. all help appreciated to try and get this girl back on the road for summer.

PM Mikeyboy of this parish he will be able to help you.

Try turning the engine by selecting 5th gear and turn back wheel by hand.
If no joy, take off the front alternator belt cover (4 allen bolts) and see if you can turn the lower pulley which will turn the engine. By removing the alternator belt, you will establish whether the alternator is seized or the engine seized.
Worth a try and should take no more than 1 hour. Try a fully charged battery as mentioned above.
Starter motor may also be seized, especially if it's been stored after being washed.

Since it was standing for a while

Check the alternator has not rusted the rotor to the stator.
If it has, rock back and forth with a spanner on end of it and it will free.

Take plugs out and then try turn wheel in gear or by front nut
