Was wondering round my local dealer today and see they're selling the above for £345.

Just wondering if there's much difference between the Comfort Seat and the Standard Stock Seat ... i.e. is it worth the money / does it make long rides even more comfortable.

Opinions appreciated.

Cheers :beerjug:

Cheers for the replies folks ..... I haven't had my RT long, have done a 300 mile day with not too many aches, will see how I get on during my longer jaunts and take it from there. Thanks again :beerjug:

Can't help feeling that a comfortable seat shouldn't be an optional extra on a £12k touring bike

the comfort seat is wider and flatter so whilst technically its lower because your legs are spread further it is about the same as the standard low seat in terms of getting your feet to the ground. Having said that its very comfy and the wee back rest bit is a nice support for your lower back. You need to note that there is no adjustment at all and as the seat is one piece, i.e. both front and rear as one, its a little more awkward to access below the seat and you have to be careful about not snagging the seat heater wires.

All said though, I would highly recommend it.

I happen to have one of these sitting in my loft. Am willing to sell, it was used for about a year then replaced for a TT seat I found at a bargain price and suited my log legs better.

Would consider £275 posted. I'll see if I can get round to taking a pic, but it's just like in the book. Not paid subs so you won't be able to pm me.

Must get atound to renewing.......

If Mal is not interested i might be :D

I only used it for about a year, it was comfy enough and suited my upper body well, unfortunately, being lower, it didn't suit my legs (bit of a longshanks with dodgy knee and hip joints), even with lowered pegs .

Yep, go on then. I'll take it for £275 posted as long as you're guaranteeing it's in good condition with no nicks, tears or stains ;)

As you're not subscribed, I can't pm you and you can't pm me, so how do you want to proceed with payment?

Having to be "Bank of Dad" again has screwed this deal up for me, so I'll have to step aside and let someone else get it. :blast :(

LBL?

I fitted a s/h comfort seat to mine a few weeks ago to make it a little easier to get my feet down - it's definitely easier, although not by much, but every little helps when you have stumpy legs :D I didn't want the standard low seat as it doesn't have as much padding.

It's definitely comfier than the stock seat, but, as you'd expect, there's less leg room and it locks you into one position. I find this rather irritating as I like to move around when"making progress" through the twisties. So, I may revert to the standard seat and just fit the stock seat on long trips as its only a 10 minute job to swap them over :nenau
