Hi everyone.

I live in South Devon, and own a 1200GS 2018 model.

I’m considering buying the single Rallye seat as my bike came with the twin seats when I bought it last year.

I’m pretty keen to try one before I buy one, so I’m wondering if there’s anyone in Devon/Cornwall that has either a standard or low version in can perch on. Happy to cover fuel costs, buy the coffee and cake.

Hope someone can help.

John

Hi John, I waited to see if someone close to you was available to help. I’m in Shropshire, miles away, but thought I could give you my thoughts on the Rallye seat.

I have a 2023 GS with a standard Rallye seat. 32” inseam. Setting ‘has’ to be hi front low rear for the seat to fit. (You’ll know you can have many permutations on the standard rider seat).

The Rallye seat ‘standard’ does increase the seat height a tad....but honestly I don’t notice it after much time. I’m always swapping between Rallye seat and standard when I take a pillion.

The standard rider seat is slightly more comfy, but again nothing that would bother me. I would do a long tour with the Rallye seat.

Of course the Rallye seat looks great too. I paid about £150 for a used (excellent condition) seat with the red, blue and white version.

Hope that helps...B02511C7-2817-4288-AD34-4A878690E4CF.jpeg

Just be aware that the Rallye seat comes as high or low seat (if you didn't already know) If you look at G&T's seat its flat from the front to the back along the top which looks to me as a high seat.
The low seat has a scollop in the front part which drops the seat down about an inch in thickness.

My GSA came with a low seat which i found too firm, also I'm 6'4 so found it too low, I changed mine to your set up rider and passenger seat.,

Tried high seat and a borrowed low version and even with front set high it still pitches you forward into the tank. I got my high seat reprofiled to make it flatter and recovered black to match my r1250gsa triple black

Thank you for the replies.
The plan is to hopefully get a little less leg spread while I’m on trails. I’m nodding towards the low seat to give me a bit more foot on the ground too.
