OK looking for a bit of help. My 07 RT1200 has a little annoying fault with the gear indicator sensor. Sometimes it plays up and does not show the 1st 2nd 3rd and neutral gear on the display and some times it does
Any way as I am one of those that believes if it's not working, even thought it is not affecting the actual mechanical side of things, it still needs to be fixed. So quick chat to local BMW dealer and they stated
1. We could plug it in to the diagnostic machine and try and reteach the sensor to recognise which gear the bike is in. Might fix the problem cost minimal as it is a quick job maybe half hour labour or
2. Buy new sensor £130 and fit myself. Apparently not a very complex job as it's plug and play. Only thing is you need small hands apparently as its located in a tight area
So any one have experience with this problem and have any advice. I have looked in the Haynes manual and can't see any diagrams or details on this particular job
Thanks in advance
