Just ordered some today from my local dealer £23.20 a good deal i thought:thumby:

What make are they?
I see in the title to your post you've put "BMW radiator guards", I wasn't aware BMW did rad guards? Thought they disapproved of them due to overheating concerns?
Not sure where you'd fit them on the bike in your Avatar though ;-)

+1 on the above. Interested to know what they look like. :beerjug:

I saw these when I was looking at the new Rallye today, can you do me a favour and post the part numbers? Cheers

I have just sold that bike and am picking up a new lc on Wednesday, while in the showroom i was looking at the new rallye which has radiator guards fitted as standard, asked if the are now on sale, he said yes and quoted £23.20, part number bm-46 . 63 .8 . 556 . 647 and bm- 46 . 63 . 8 . 556 .648 description protective. i thought it was a mistake as most aftermarket guards are £60 plus, i have asked the dealer to fit them for me before i pick the bike up on wednesday, so can take a pic then if anyone interested.

Ooh yes, so it does!

At that price, that's just killed the aftermarket!

I'm guessing they'll be made from plastic at that price? More cosmetic than functional.
There might still be demand for the metal ones sold by Cymark, Touratech,
Evotech ,Altrider etc. Just Googled them, quite surprised by the sheer amount now on the market & differences between designs. Some look like they'd still let small stones through & others that might save you from half a house-brick. Gaps look rather large on these?

I don't think plastic or metal matters at all but the size of the holes does. Too big and a small stone will puncture rad and too small will restrict airflow.

If anything, this has put the whole "will rad guard invalidate my warranty" debacle to bed.:beerjug:

If you have a cooling issue with aftermarket rad guards, questions may be asked.. Some are so bad you wouldn't believe.

surely plastic is the way forward, it will never rust or corrode, although it may go brittle. I had a Touratech aluminium guard on my F800GS ended up blast cleaning and powder coating it and replacing the spacers with stainless when moving it from the 2011 to the 2015.

Id like to see some photos when fitted and might get CW to fit them at the next service.

Well dealer just rang and they dont fit:blast not sure if its just the gsa, he said they may fit with a bit of fettling will have a look tomorrow and let you all know.

Looking at the web site under the OEM part numbers and comparing them to what you get from NN, it looks as though this is for the GS range only and not the GSA. :anger

Did anyone bottom out if these are for the standard GS or GSA? And not just limited to the 2017 model.

Mark
