BMW Rallye jacket braces/straps

Bought myself a Rallye Suit a few months ago and noted the jacket has what appear to be braces/straps down the inside of the back of the jacket.

Are they meant to be worn so that my arms are through them in that they will lie down my upper arm and chest/shoulder area?

I’ve simply ignored them till now and just put the jacket on in the normal fashion so that they are against my back inside the jacket.

Thoughts anyone??

They are used to carry the jacket like a rucksack when you are off the bike walking about.
