BMW Rallye suits

Hi I'm thinking of new gear, what's the opinion of the Rallye jacket and trousers, the price seems a lot for a jacket with the waterproof liner inside? Are they worth it owners? Or would the klim or rev'it equivalence be a better bet for all year round riding for similar money?

Worth every penny even if it comes without any inner layers

I had one. It was by far the most comfortable suit I've ever had, however, after getting caught in a few downpours I got rid of it. For summer riding though, nothing is better.

They're a great second hand buy...

I use the liners for warmth and occasional wet weather but use ex army gortex over trousers and and old gortex jacket for water proofs on trips or when I know it's going to be heavy rain. It's a great combo

A few sets have gone through the FS section at the right money over the last couple of weeks. I think when the time is right and all the stars are aligned correctly for me (when I have the money) I'll get a used set for warm weather riding.

Agree with Nutty....a great suit for hot climates/summer. Very comfortable with great protection but f'ing useless in the rain. Also they wet out and get very heavy and cold. Putting in the waterproof layer is a faff so you end up putting on over trousers and top. So, not a great buy new. Klim do much better kit and you don't have to but the top of the range stuff to get an excellent suit.

Also try getting it from FC Moto in Germany...they have some end of line stuff at the moment that looks really good value....many have used them, buy with confidence.

I find them warm enough in the winter, the liners only a faf in the summer - outer layers is the way to go.

I've had my first a 2nd hand rally 2 for 8 years, it's now my offroad suit and is and after a was is still bloody good

I bought another rally 3 2nd had last year, it's another good suit but IMO the 2 is better ( it's all about the pockets)

I'd buy Klim if paying new money but you can't beat a 2nd twat suit IMO

I've got suits and separates from Klim, Revit, Dainese, Halvorssons and BMW that I've accumulated over the years in the search for the holy grail of motorcycle suits. Despite not really liking the style of them my go to summer touring kit is my Rallye 3. Extremely comfortable, protective, well vented and flexible in a range of conditions. Bin the inner liners, get some goretex pac lite over trouser with a full length zip, a goretex over jacket and a heated liner and you'll have a suit that will take you comfortably through most conditions your likely to encounter on a typical 3 season tour.

As an only suit for 4 season riding in the UK it's flawed and I'd probably be looking at Klim or the new Revit stuff. But a 2nd hand twat suit off here is a good buy to supplement one of those.

Agree with you
Klim makes a very good combo but when i bought mine i done some reserch and the price siffrence from uk to germany(fc moto) was only 100 £ yes it may be a big diffrwnts but you may loose on the warranty side
Fc Moto is known for bad costumers care and if you have a problem u have to send your kit back to germany and that involves maybe a full month without your gear or maybe more
I choose to pay a bit extra and buy it here
