BMW reply to key/ toolkit it's your fault

Having read all of this I think as a lucky gs12 owner who had an original bike with the full tool kit, i think on changung I will just keep my toolkit lets face it what dealer checks under the saddle on a trade in?

Bottom line... BMW aren't interested at all,

Whats interesting, is i've aspired to a BMW for years, only just finally being able to afford the "bike of my dreams"

Stu.

Most people realise that BMW are just robbing you after the first few months of ownership. It's nothing new.

It's also sad that people like yourself are falling for all the hype and sales talk and then being let down. BMW need to start listening to the owners and taking note of the long term ownership issues. The attitude they have is :-
"so long as it last through the warranty period, we're OK"
After that, of course, we have to pay!
Regarding tools, Triumph don't supply tools to remove the wheels on my Tiger. Can do just about everything else though.

BMW Motrrad should take heed of the Mercedes cars issue in recent years.

Mercedes has suffered big time due to a decrease in build quality, and I believe to a certain extent customer relations.

If BMW get it wrong now they'll pay for it later when people realise what's going on. I for one certainly hope this is not the case as I haven't even got my first BMW yet, and as Stu said I had the feeling that I had finally reached the position of being able to become a BMW owner. If teh 1200GS has been built down to a cost I will feel very disappointed and once burnt twice shy I'll never buy another.

For me it's early days, I hope my 'dreams' don't evaporate too quickly...

Sorry Howard, the Triumph tool kit is not good enough to do everything else, far from it in fact. I doubt the kit in your Tiger would differ much from my 2004 Sprint ST, and that is very basic indeed. Its a long way off being capable of doing everything.

I want two spare keys or I`ll go to a dealer that can get 2 cut for me.
You can not get a key cut it's a part that that will come from bmw my key came from bmw mottard went straight in & started the bike my dealer did not have to program it ,it was ready to go :D

Interesting statement...

I've just read from another thread:
that BMW bike sales have increased by 46% over the last year, largely due to the success of the GS....

Well that explains why they felt the need to skimp and save money then!! NOT !!

Like everyone else, a little success and they get greedy, more, more more is all they want.... well, what goes around, comes around, and if they're behaviour doesn't change, just maybe they'll have taken the short term profit over long term gain route... this one could be a long term saga interesting to watch it unfold!!
