According to a vociferous expert on here.
171.750 miles killed by fire after an accident. That is 21468 miles a year :spl1f:

For those with no FB:

"Hi folks,
Hope you all doing well.
Administrator pls remove this post if not allowed to.
Unfortunately last Thursday 09/05 I was involved in a terrible accident and by a miracle I survived with a minor injuries ( broken shoulder and some bruising), but very sad, my 2016 R1200RS Iconic model number 64 didn’t survive.
She ignited and was consumed by fire when a Van hit me at the Black Cat roundabout - England ( not a very inspiring name for a roundabout ).
She was above 171.750 miles at the time - probably the most used RS in the world???
I ride all year round ( all the 52 weeks) and I enjoyed riding every mile; no matter if it’s was sunny, rainy, windy or snowy.
I hope you all keep enjoying the rides and pls be safe out there, specially at badly designed roundabouts.
Here some pictures my RS.
Cheers to you all

Around
50K miles replace rear shocks ( OEM second hand)
89K I had to replace shaft drive and also stator( aftermarket)
And the around 130k another stator( OEM second hand this time )
Last week 171K went to T -Tech Suspension( Croydon - CR0 0AA) to get the rear shock totally rebuilt and improved spring( better than OEM) - Lukas is the man:)
And a lot of brake pads, spark plugs, front fork oil and seals, engine oil…etc
😂

Oh.. still with the same clutch…
😂
😂
😂

Forgot to say: had a recall letter from BMW to replace the shaft drive on the 15/05 free of charge."

Not a bad mileage with essentially routine maintenance. Stator issues are common amongst most modern bikes as insulation breaks down with heat so over time, they tend to cook themselves. BMW aren't alone in this. 171K miles on the original clutch is impressive! I'd fully expect suspension rebuilds whatever I'm riding at between 30 and 50K miles. I'd say that bike as a good advert for the RS!

Stator replacement is major work on the LC bikes.

Stator replacement is A pita on most bikes to be fair, but yes, the LC involves stripping more away to get to it, but it's not something that many of us will ever need to worry about (not exactly a common problem)....oh, and all cats are unlucky (for the songbirds in my garden....)

I fucking hate the Black Cat roundabout, the sooner the traffic improvement scheme is competed the better.

Shame his bike caught fire, thats a damn well used example.

Ok, only one RS and GS bikes.
