Funny I rang BMW and they told me that recall was to check routing of speedo cable to make sure that it is not catching brake pipe?

I know what you mean Andysdad but the government recall site (http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp) shows 15 recalls for BMW bikes between Nov 03 and now (thats the time I've owned mine) and 64 for Honda.

I got my GS from SPC's so no letter as yet!, so anyone hears what it's all about let us all know. Mine been apart for various "mods" aint seen nufingk

I got one for my K1200RS again a bit vague so I contacted Ocean at Plymouth and was told that it was to replace two o rings in the fuel pipes and also the sealing ring in the fuel tank ( where the pump fits in). Recon to take about an hour and a half. Just a safety issue, no danger, and a good excuse to try a demo bike, Not sure what though.

If it's fuel leaks that would explain the low mpg questions
Strangely enough my letter was also vague but I was told that it was safety related and to bring the bike in.When pressed they stated it was a problem of the speedo cable fretting through the front brake lines and a plug in upgrade for the fuel system ?
Think that I may check it before riding the bike, they also stated that it effects not only the r1150 gs but a number of models in the range from 1999 onwards

I just got one for the R850R on a Y plate too, its a 100 mile round trip to nearest dealer, Can any body let me know whats the issue after theirs has attended a dealer please, don't really want to go all that way to a dealer I don't like findling with my bike.

New pipe on order and cable re-routed.
It would seem that the chaps at SPC routed it the wrong way.
But the last thing you'd want to find out is that the speedo cable had done the damage - just as you applied the brakes in an hurry, sort of.
