Like Grandtrousers posting I too am considering a new fabric type suit.
So what do you all think about BMW's Savanna 2? Is it up to the job, waterproof, does it have safety stitching like Hein gericke ie hidden seam, is it worth the money, will BM dealers offer a discount...............

What else is out there?

Thanks all

Tim

Savana 2 is shower proof not water proof, there is an additional Goretex liner available for it though.
The Rallye 2 is a slightly lighter Jacket and comes with the Gortex liner already inside so its nice and waterproof

BMW Clothing is double stiched on seams with Serafil thread to ensure safety and reliability. (this is ultra strong thread)
Another thing to consider is BMW are the only people to heat test the clothing to see its melting point,
Why you may ask........
Well when your sliding down the road you wont want the material to melt into your skin now would you !!!!

As far as cost goes, can you put a price on a few layer's of skin or safety ?
Good things No cheap, Cheap things No good !! :D

Rydale's of Cardiff have some sale items at the moment. I've just bought (mail order) some Voyage 2 trousers for half-price. They do have some Savannah & Rally suit reductions, but not that much, due to their popularity.

Charles

Ned

with the liner its is waterproof. It is well made and for me strikes the almost the right balance for temperatures (bit too warm when its hot). still when you open all the flaps and compartments it is pretty effective.

I can also say that having done my own abraison test at 50mph down the Col di morti that it is surprisingly good. Small graze/burn (2x2cm) on arm. Otherwise not even brusing, with standard back, elbow and shoulder protectors.

Draw backs

price

if you get the beige color you look flithy, although rugged and purposefil very quickly.

Sizes not generous, but then there is a lot of me to cover!

For Sale

Hi Ned I just might sell mine if anyone is interested, worn only a couple of times. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, just that I like the look of the new Rallye 2 suit. Anyone interested ?? Send me a pm

Got a Master IV suit from Hein Gericke last week and it certainly exceeds any expectations I would have thought of, all day comfort, absolutely waterproof, easy to get on/off and good body armour. This is so far without the thermal lining in place, I tried it in the jacket on a cold day but it was too warm - it would have to be seriously cold to have the liners for the jacket and trousers.

Me

About 5'11" 42 chest, 34 waist 32 inside leg. got a picture somewhere if the size fits. email me Gazza if still interested or call 01158406863

I've got the Rallye 2 trousers and initial impressions are very good. I'm 6'6" and 17 stone and the slim model is only just small enough for my 36" waist. These are the first biking troos that have ever fitted me properly and they're soooooooo comfy! I'm now saving hard for the matching jacket. Oh, and i got them for £240 instead of £270 at CW's. Expensive bit of kit? Yes. But it fits me, is really comfy and looks way cool... Bargain!!!

Gazza's Clobber
