I'm considering buying the BMW Riders Scotland GPS mount for my 1200GS. Has anyone used this mount with a set of Tobinators? I have a set I'm due to fit in the next few days.

thanks,

Bonj

Hi , I've got a Scot GS Mount , but not the tobernators. Dont they take the screen away from the bike ? Should fit ok , check with Dutchman.

I dont think the GPS mount will fit with the 1200 Tobinators.

From the bikes I've seen with the GPS mount, it needs the screen to be fairly upright (vertical) in order for the mount to fit behind the screen (correct me if I'm wrong here).

The Tobinators will actually raise the screen a bit but their raison-d'etre is to enable more tilt whilst not sacrificing the height or the rear edge.

I dont think you'll be able to have the screen upright enough to fit the mount behind.

If any BMWRidersofScotland chaps want to get in touch by email or PM I can arrange a set of test Tobinators to confirm.

That's me.............

Hi Andy

We actually have two different GPS mounts, the shorter one, which you may have seen, which disables the lower two adjustment notches and the taller one which Ian Dowsett has which enables the full OE screen adjustment with a little room to spare.

As I'm happy with the OE screen on mine and the tolerable wind movement behind it, I've not felt the need for Tobinators.

I would, however, welcome the opportunity to try some out with our GPS mounts, so we can collectively answer peoples queries......

Did you guys ever test out the low GPS mount with Tobinators? I am awaiting the GPS mount and am loath to install my Tobinators before it arrives.

We are awaiting a set of Tobinators which should be with us in the next few days....

As soon as The Dutchman has them fitted to his Bike, well let you know how they match up, or not as the case may be...;)

Many thanks for the Tobinators, Andy....

As you suggested above, our GPS mounts and the Tobinators are not generally compatible, because the range of adjustment offered by the Tobinators takes the screen back towards a more horizontal position, which causes the OE screen to touch the GPS when using the Type One (small) GPS mount.

If the Type Two (large) GPS mount the range of adjustment offered by the Tobinators is greater but still compromised as the screen moves back and towards the horizontal.

Our advice to Tobinators customers who are also considering one of our mounts, is to fit the Tobinators and adjust the screen to your preferred position.

Then take a look at the photo's on the products page of our website and assess whether either mount might be suitable.

If you subsequently take delivery of one of our mounts and find that compromises the adjustment offered by the Tobinators, we will refund your money in full upon receipt of the returned mount.

Cheers
