Anyone know if this is compatible with Tom tom Rider 2? I've just got mine and cannot make the connection between the 2!

Check that your Tom Tom uses the same A2DP Bluetooth technology as your helmet. If it does, you shoud be able to connect without any problems. If it doesn't you're f...ed. Good luck.

Hmm I thought that AD2P was only a means by which stereo coms can be transported through Bluetooth.

The MobilNova software on the Tom Tom can connect OK just not the Tom Tom software, am awaiting a response from Tom tom but am not holding my breath!

A response from Tom Tom :):)

"Unfortunately we only support the Scala Headset which ships with the device. We cannot guarantee the compatibility of other headsets."

:mad::mad:

So it looks like, after many many years of Tom Tom use, I had one of their first software offerings, I'm going to have to go out and buy a Zumo.

And all of this saga is because I bought a System 6 helmet, that the Scala wouldn't fit, so changed that for the BMW headset now the Tom Tom won't work so have to buy new GPS.

Just don't tell the wife. :eek

Just 'cos Tom Tom won't support it doesn't mean it won't work.

Why not take the Tom Tom device to a dealer of system 6 helmets and try it? It's what, £700 quids worth of kit? If *I* was a salesman I'd ket you try it out. I'd offer the same cavaets as Tom Tom - if it doesn't work it's down to you, but it's still £700 quids worth of potential business.... :nenau

FWIW, early implementations of the Zumo firmware had terrible problems with bluetooth. My Nokia phone and iTech headset would drop out all the time but thankfully it's all sorted now Garmin released firmware updates that eventually cured the(my) problems.

Unfortunately I had assumed that the BMW headset would work with the Rider the dealer (Lind - Norwich, Philip :thumb) was not asked about compatibility! It's only after I've bought the headset that I find it won't connect and believe me I've tried. All of my other Bluetooth equipment, 'phones, headsets, computers etc etc connect to each other with no problems, it's only Tom Tom that has a problem which points to a very narrow (or selective) spec. for the design of their software.

Bum. :( FWIW, I had Tom Tom software on my Dell Axim and could never get the bluetooth to connect properly either.

I don't like dangly wires, it's bad enough with the one for the heated vest let alone others for headsets! When I bought the bike it already had Autocom installed but I soon removed all of that and went down the route of Tom Tom plus Scala, at that time I had a System 4 helmet so it all fitted fine. The problem started when I upgraded to the System 6 helmet and it's just snowballed on from there!
As I've said, I've already bought the headset so will be going down the Bluetooth route, I could just pair the BlackBerry to the headset for 'phone calls, listen to music from MobilNova on the Rider and have no audio route instructions from the Tom Tom, but it is nice to see who is calling plus make calls without getting the 'phone out!
