tried out my system 6 helmet for the first time a couple of weeks ago - trying it on in the dealer was fine and everything felt good - after riding with the lid on for a few hours i found out there was a couple of tight spots around the back of my head - this became really annoying and i had to stop and remove the lid - it has eased off a little however still not perfect - i have worn it for about 10 days now - the question is - will the helmet bed in further or am i looking at changing for something else

System 6 hot spots

My wife is having the same problem with hot spots in her System 6. It seems from what I read now about purchasing a helmet, I should of had her wear it for an hour or so around the dealership prior to making a hasty ($1000.00) purchase. She has only worn it on about 4 rides and seems to get the hotspots after about 35 minutes into the ride. She says the rest of the helmets feels fine, except for one hot spot on the back top of her head. Anyone have some thoughts or suggestions?

I had this with my system 5. What I did was to just press down the expanded polystyrene padding with my fingers at the tight spots. It goes down and stays down. I'm sure this is not recommended from a safety point of view, but I really don't see how it will make much difference if it's only in a couple of places.
I worked a treat.

The general advice is don't touch the polystyrene. However, as long as you don't go mad and crush it you should be OK.
General tip is to use the back of a spoon to smooth it down.
