BMW tank bag fitting

Hello everyone. I have a 2004 GS and the tank bag velcro/zip stick-on bit at the saddle end of the tank has, after nearly 20 years faithful service, finally given up the ghost. What is it called, and where can I get a replacement?

Hi folks. I bought my R1200GS new in 2004. The velcro/zip thingy that sticks to the saddle-end of the tank to hold the tank bag on has, after nearly 20 years of faithful service, finally given up the ghost. What is it called, and where can I get a replacement? I am capable of repairing it, but I would rather get a new one to save me the faff. I am in Walsall, West Midlands.

Can you explain (just the once will suffice)what part has failed. A little more info might help if it fixed. If you want a new part why not just ask your dealer.

note: the part on a small tank bag is a different zip pitch to the large bag - and thus are not interchangeable in either direction... UTTER MADNESS

I guess that superseded part number is really showing the two different types people need - but no one at BMW has realised yet !!!!
