Just bought the large BMW GS tank bag and first trip out in the pissing rain I discover the map pocket is not waterproof.

"do they all do this sir!?" or do I take it back to the stealer?

just guessing but..

the BMW bag is supplied with a waterproof cover....which suggests to me that the bag on its own....is not waterproof . Get youself a large freezer bag, the ones with the click seal top and put your map in that first, then into the bag....jobs a good 'un'.

i have a large bmw tank bag. it has no cover, but is entirely waterproof.

it's a few years old now, so may be different model though :nenau

The new bag has a waterproof inner liner for the main section and no cover but for nearly £200 I would have thought the bloody map pocket, which also has a place for a phone, would have been waterproof.:censor:

I Have the same bag, and my one is definitely not waterproof- because the day I got it and showed to to my then girlfriend who was preparing some food in the kitchen, she poked the transparent cover with a kitchen knife saying "Whats that little dip for? (the phone pocket) and poked a huge slit straight through it.

This was the girlfriend that also hung my rallye suit up on a nail in the shed and ripped straight through the inner waterproof membrane.

Glad im not with her any more stupid f:censor:g cow!

Update- according to the manual the pocket should be waterproof. Contacted Vines and they are replacing without question. Top service again!
