What a crap design, not the tank bag but the fixings, top fixing is ok that can stay there when bag not attached but where do you store the rear straps, way to much of a faff taking the screws out every time so where would you store yours, doesn't seem that there is enough room under the seat as the straps have to go under the rubber seat mount.
Anyone used another solution or is it a case of just leave em by your ****0cks

Had a BMW tank bag on the Hexhead, a bit of a faff to use. I bought a cheap used Bags Connection “City” tankbag and tank ring for my 1250GSA which I find is much better for touring stuff like wallet, keys, phone and passport plus a few sheckels in loose change.

turn them down under the beak of the seat

Doing that never marked the tank on either of my two r1200gsa lc's but the paint on the 1250 triple black is so bloody soft that despite a tank pad being fitted the genuine BMW bag was marking the tank paint within a couple of miles .

Ended up binning the BMW bag and opting for a Givi Tanklock Bag

I never take mine off....................

The little pocket at the back has power supply sockets in it so i tend to leave it on all the time.
Also tend to take a snack with me on every ride which goes in the bag.

Take it off, sell it, then use a tank ring. Givi, sw motech etc. Much easier. Don't have the straps to rub the paintwork either, no brainer.
