Wapping. I have pm'd you re the top box but Abi has first dibs as you offered it to him first.

I used one on a trip around northern Greece and Sicily last summer. I found it to be great with a huge storage capacity and relatively easy to cope with when filling up. The only problems I found were the map case being too narrow for a michelin map (a real pain) and the fact that the glued on bit with a zip came unstuck at the end of the journey.

Wapping - bag and top box etc.

Abi,

I have sent you an email.

If you sign up as a site sponsor (I think it's just a tenner) you can access the sales / wants and recieve private messages. It helps fund the costs of running the site and you can get your money back on the first trade you make.

If you do not want the bag / box the first in queue are:

Novice: Tank bag

Top box etc. Piebaps

I have sent each of you a PM

Cheers,

Richard

Oh, the joys of selling stuff on this board. You make one person happy with a well-priced bargain, and p!ss off everyone else who might have been interested!

In respect of the BMW bag itself, I was given a tank bag by the dealer as a result of a little mix-up over collection times for my new bike last year. If you mount the rear fixing as far back as the instructions advise, it is nearly invisible, but I thought it would leave the sticky pad under tension when the bag is in place. Also, I wanted to have enough room to put some scuff-stopping rubbery mesh stuff underneath, so mounted mine a little further forward. Bag is still firm and stable.

Can anyone suggest how I can re-fix the pad (i.e. what glue to use) if the current adhesive comes unstuck or I want to adjust it, please?

Robin.

Getting it off without ruining a section of the adhesive surface is the problem.

Would not recommend using a different glue, don't think it will work.

You can order a new sticky tab up from your dealer but its about a fiver!

As Thunder says. You can remove a pad fairly easyily (hairdryer and light heat) and it will not leave any marks. however, the adhesive will be shot and a new s/a pad needs to be applied.

Thunder, yours was cheap, mine was nearly £7 :spitfire Next time I'll buy a sheet of the stuff and cut my own, it must be cheaper.

FWIW I rate my BMW tank bag, it looks 'right' on the bike, is 100% waterproof (contents and map pocket) and even has a detatchable 'bum bag' :ymca for keeping coins and cards in (not waterproof though).

Andres, if you can find a small sheet of that 3M duo lock at a reasonable price I will be happy to split the cost with you, I looked for it last year for another project and you would not believe the price!
