BMW will launch these 2 new bikes at Intermot in Oct

Seems like they have ditched the Telelever, on thing that makes BMW Boxers so great to ride....................maybe a retrograde step

What do you think

This trend of streetfighter style headlight doesn't do anything for me. I like proper headlights on a bike.

Both look good IMO and I'll certainly be test riding. Either that RS is really small or the test rider is a pie eater:augie

When are the HP models coming out?:green gri

Other than the sticky out heads, they could be any other nondescript Yamhondasuzkwak

I agree, the current R1200R is better looking and more distinct.

Ditching the Telelever is a good thing though, one of the common complaints about the R1200R was that it was a rough rife for you hands and arms which I found too.

I quite like the look of the 1200R, and the RS ain't too shabby either.
Not sure about losing the Telelever front though, as i'm a big fan.

But i'm sure both of these bikes will make fun road bikes......still think its a shame they didn't put the WC engine in the 9T though.

Basic R in black with gold forks looks pretty hot.

Should be a blast to ride if the S1000R is anything to go by.

I'm inclined to agree. The second one had better be cheap because it looks like a commuter hack you'd see at a motorcycle training school.

BMW Designer 1: "Hmm, it's a bit boring"
BMW Designer 2: "Paint the frame red"
Both: Look at each other and nod sagely, proud of their design prowess.

I'm slightly confused. I was under the impression that the new sport tourer (multistrada competitor) was going to be S1000 based rather than a boxer. When I was in Benhams at the weekend the talk was all about the new S1000 based MultiStrada killer. :nenau

I think the R1200 RS is a great looking bike though.

No need to be confused - the S1000 based MS killer is coming too just not yet. Loads of spy pix all over the web. Expect another announcement from BM soon:thumb

Maybe but must save weight and did not stop all the 9Ts selling like hot cakes ;)

Maybe it was too hard to package the radiators around the telelever on these smaller bikes? The GS is just barely squeezing them in.

I like the R in the white/red looks cool, ive been awaiting the s1000xr in anticipation of placing my order for one and the talk was, it was supposedly going to be seen in the flesh at intermot !
