BMW Vario Panniers - Too cheap to be true?

Hi all. On the hunt for some second hand panniers for my 2021 1250 gs and these came up. I immediately went for them to start arrange collection but contemplation me is thinking is this too good to be true?

My sceptic mind is wondering if this is a ploy to get a GS within their sights. Or am I overthinking?

Whats everyones thoughts? Should I run or is this the bargain of the year?

Well at least i'm slightly more reassured the bargains are out there

I mean if they are happy you collect and pay cash then I would have zero issue

If they want you to pay in Amazon prepaid cards and you have to arrange delivery because they won't allow you to collect then i would be walking a mile

That was my thought process too.

Wife also suggested going in the car, just in case its a ruse to attract GS's. Its a stretched theory but very possible.

It strikes me as a "good" price intended to attract attention.
Typically on here bods will add the extra info that builds confidence (eg downsizing, or got rid of the bike, or changed brands) that is not on show in your screenshot.
If his GS has been nicked then what use for the varios?

True, I have had some messages back and forth with the seller thats also instilled a bit more confidence, such as "Just to let you know, we don’t have the keys for them,
I know you coming a long way so want to be honest" which seems fair.

I've got the YT video ready to code them to my key ;-)

I was seated in Victoria Station a couple of years ago and bore witness to just such a sale. My eyes were drawn to the guy clutching his Lupin Blue RS panniers, and shortly thereafter he was approached by another who tentatively inspected the afforsaid before happily handing over a wad of cash.
Both disappeared in to the melee to be never seen again by me.
Not all of London or Birmingham is filled with bad people.

Again the locks can be replaced...just drill them out

Though I feel I would have a go at picking them as there must be a YT video out there somewhere of someone doing these type of locks

The price is about right. IIRC it's what I sold mine for on here last year and those hadn't been used much either.

It could be that they were a ‘free luggage’ dealer offer on a new bike and said bike has gone. Any money made is profit. I will be doing the same with my panniers and top box, sell cheap, once the GS goes. After all, they didn’t cost me anything.

I’m fairly sure I paid about £250 for a pair of Vario’s when I had my 1200.

To give some perspective I sold a pair in extremely good condition a few months ago. About 2 years old but little use. They came with my bike second hand. I got £500 for them and would be over double that brand new. I had to split the side cases and top box and got two sales.
I had a spare key cut for the cases for the buyer. Its not really a security issue as the bike needs a chipped key to start it.
They seem exceedingly cheep, to me too cheap at this time of year, bit if all the dominoes line up then you have a bargain.

They're only wafer locks... far easier to "rake" them.... google it, if you don't know how to do it.

I have an old bicycle roof rack... that I used a few months ago for the first time in ages. No key. Bugger. But no problem... I just raked the locks... took all of 10 seconds ! Makes you realise how irrelevant locks can be....
