BMW Warrenty and change of bike ownership

Hi all.. just got myself a 2007 GSA which still has some BMW warrenty remaining... question is do I have to inform Mr BMW or is the warrenty based just on the bike and it doesn't matter who the owner is...
I think its the latter but just need to check incase anything goes wrong and I need it sorting..

In the warranty booklet .. I think there is a tear out bit that you can fill in and send off to bmw.

They will then know to send you the renew notice rather than the bloke you bought it off.

No need to fill out the form, I transferred the warranty on my bike by phoning BMW Customer Services - tel 0870 5050 195

Thanks Lads, I'll give them a ring tomorrow. I didn't recieve a warrenty booklet when I bought the bike just the Riders Manual with the service history in and 'Contact Europe' booklet, so ringing them makes it alot easier.

I didn't do anything when I bought mine and I still got the BMW letter the other day regarding the handguard/brake issue, so they knew somehow !

Chances are they got the data from the DVLC.
