BMW weekend at squires cafe - this weekend 30th 31st July

Hmm, I'll be in that area on Sunday, riding from the Lake District to the Peak District, so may pop in, depending on timings.:thumb

What is Squires like nowadays ? Last time we were in was about two years ago and it was absolutely minging, cafe was filthy and the food barely edible

I think it has improved... food is fine...ive not been disappointed yet...IMHO. i understand that it has been under new management so has improved....

Sounds about right - don't see the attraction myself

Also the ****head quotient appears to be quite high - I don't go there any more and avoid the surrounding roads at the weekend - the lairy riding on show doesn't appeal and attracts police attention.

In one

I've never been before, but it seems like a central point to meet a few on here on Sunday.:nenau

If it's shit, I won't go back.:rob:D

Don't knock it, there's good and bad in everything. It's mostly bike enthusiasts, wives and girlfriends out for a ride. Some interesting machinery to look at while you wander around the car park, drinking your preferred brew.

As for police attention, ride within the law and there is no problem. In fact there is rarely a police presence unless some stupid show off bins it into the verge leaving the cafe.

Exacto mondo...its all about the bikes....all shapes and sizes...better than sat listening to the wife chuntering on!!

True (except for the wife bit - I appear to be one of the few on here who loves their wife's company), but I can go to Hawes, Manor Cafe or Devils Bridge to see loads of bikes and have a great ride there/back ;)

Last time was there I found the staff to be very rude and it was a shit hole tbh. I'll be honest Iv stopped going but it is a central point for the Yorkshire group
To meet up.

well I dint see him there :D. But my airheads a fast un !!
best bmw bikes at squires were the electric pushbikes.

Better off getting a test ride from your dealer

Saw this thread then had a ride over yesterday, took out a naked S1000R
Guided ride, about 40 mins follow the pack, no overtaking each other or guides. Route took in mostly quiet country roads with a few fast sections but also a few villages.
Two unfortunate souls managed to drop their bikes almost before we'd left the milk bar car park & one of them was a "guide"
If you want a decent test ride, you are better off taking one for a couple of hours from a dealers.
Liked the bike, bit more feet up than XR, accessory screen fitted was surprisingly buffet free & quiet, unlike the ones fitted to the GS & XR.

If I'd known you were going Mick I'd have abandoned my solitary bimble and accompanied you.
Enough juice in the airhead battery for that . . . but then I'd have missed out on the good news about the 12 from Rainbow!
