Genuine BMW X3 wheels with Continental Winter Contact TS870P tyres.
They came off my previous X3 (F25 model) 2010-2017
Wheel size: 7.5J/17 ET32
Offset: 30-34
Centre bore:72.6mm
PCD: 5x120
Thread: M14 x 1.25
Tyre size: 225/60/17 V XL

The tyres were only used last winter for approx 2,000 miles and are in excellent condition with approx 7.5mm tread remaining (see photos). I paid just under £800 for them (tyres only) in November last year and they are consistently rated in the top 3 of winter tyre tests...check them out on Google or wherever. These aren't just for the snow and ice that we experience here in Aberdeenshire and the Cairngorms, but they are better all round once the temperate drops to about 7 degrees C and below

The wheels are in good condition with no buckles, welds, dents or kerbing marks, but there are few small areas where you can see some salt corrosion. The TPMS systems worked fine on all the wheels when I took them off my car in April of this year.

I find it's so much easier (and cost effective) to have a dedicated winter set, rather than swapping summer/winter tyres on the same wheels twice a year.

The only reason I am selling these is because I now have a newer X3 and both the PCD and wheels sizes are different.

If your X3 (F25 model) normally runs on 245/50/18 wheels, these will almost certainly fit your car. You can check for yourself here... https://www.wheel-size.com/size/bmw/

These may fit other cars, but please do your own own research based on the info above.

£600 collected from near Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, but happy to meet up within 40-50 mile radius if you are some distance away.
NOTE: These are advertised elsewhere at a higher price, so offering discount to Tossers.

If you have the car to match these, then an absolute steal! Living where we do on untreated, unplowed and generally ignored single track roads, the value of winter tyres is enormous and I agree that having a spare set of wheels (Scandinavian style) is the way to go, as long as you have the storage space that is. Good luck with the sale

Thanks ikkje
Yes, I worked for a Finnish company for many years where it is compulsory to have separate summer and winters sets.
I followed that thinking in the UK and the difference is enormous in terms of grip and safety at cooler temperatures.
For storage, they are 70cm outer tyre diameter and 97cm high when stacked on top of each other

I have the car but not the space to store the wheels unfortunately. Getting Crossclimate 3s fitted tomorrow. The wheels with your tyres are in decent nick. It's a good price so good luck with the sale.

Just checked out the price of these tyres now and they are just over £870 for the set…and without the wheels of course.
Perhaps I have underpriced mine:unsure:

I don't think so. They are still unsold.

Just a little bit out for my f31 x drive or I would have had them, any excuse for a drive upto Scotland 🤣

Thanks SIM. A few people have expressed interest but are similarly south of the border.
I'm staying overnight in Perth next Wednesday, but that still might be a trek for you to meet up.
Someone is sure to have them once the cold weather gets a grip

Sorry I meant the side wall was a bit out being a 60 and not 50, it’s too tall. GLWS, seems good value

…and so we have the first noticeable snowfalls at lower levels and more significant below freezing temperatures.
Certainly time to get your winter wheels and tyres on which work better than summer rubber when the thermometer drops below +7C

Been asked about the slightly narrower width of these 225 winter tyres vs 245+ summer tyres, so I thought I would share what I learned at the Saariselkä winter tyre testing facility in Finland...

Assuming other factors are the same such as tyre brand, winter tyres typically benefit from being slightly narrower as:
1. A slightly smaller winter tyre footprint increases the pounds per square inch of downforce being exerted on the snow/ice/road, so you get better grip under such conditions, but lateral grip on tarmac is slightly reduced
2. Narrower tyres cut through wet snow and slush much better instead of riding up on top of the slippery surface.

Take a look at winter rally cars, all of which run on narrower tyres (with or without studs) for this reason. Lecture over.

ski's compared to ice skates :)

These are great tyres, and the same i have on my E61 BMW. On which i too run a 225 section. It's like driving on a dry summers day with these on in the colder, wetter months of the year. No slippage at all - just lots of grip.

Still some cold weather around, so winter tyres remain better option for another few weeks in parts of the UK.
Price reduced to £500 for the set.
If they don’t sell by the end of March I’ll close the ad’ and advertise again at higher price next October.
