BMW1150GS - Squeeking on first time start-up from cold

Hi all, can anyone offer advice on what might be nothing to worry about (I hope !). When I first start up from cold, I get a noticable squeeking noise whick appears to be comming from under the front area of the fuel tank. The squeeking becomes more apparent when I increase the revs and remains for about 3 to 5 mins - any ideas ?

I had the same - checked the belt and it seemed fine. Turned out it was the front alternator bearing squealing - it shouldn't because I think it's sealed, but a couple of drops of oil in it (hard to get at with the pulley in place) and it hasn't squealed since - that was about 4k miles ago.

It's not a little mouse annoyed that you just woke him up? I had one make a little nest in my 9r a few years back. A rapid blast down the dual carriageway soon sorted him out!
