Nearly 3,000 cancelled orders from China to Boeing over the next 20 years. Stock price collapses, thousands of direct and nearly a million supplier jobs at threat. Meanwhile, Airbus shares rise. He really is a stable genius ….
 
China already has the capacity to make its own Airliners (COMAC) and engines (AECC). I expect that the order was originally made to keep good relations with the US and as a result of Trumps antics its a FU which will have no impact whatsoever on Chinese aerospace development. Interestingly while the Dollar and Dow jones, Nasdaq etc. continue to go down the pan the pound and the FTSE are holding up well. According to the Telegraph the Chinese stake in UK companies has gone up from 64bn in December to over 90bn. Whether this is a good thing or should ring alarm bells who knows.

I've been watching a lot of France 24 news the last couple of weeks and while most EU countries have a surplus on US trade in Goods they have a deficit in services.(unlike the UK which is the other way round) and seem to be seeking ways to reduce EU reliance on American Financial and tech services including looking at alternative operating systems to Windows, Apple and Android, and alternatives to X86 and Arm processors for computation probably based on RISC V open architectures....and most of those chips are made in....China

I think that we are witnessing the enshitification of the US. Whether the damage is reparable will depend on trump and the republican party reversing some of the current very damaging policies. 13% of world trade is with the US but that still leaves 87% of trade still working to a globalised model. Cracks seem to be appearing with Musk describing Trump Trade and Manufacturing advisor Peter Navarro "dumber than a sack of bricks" and calling him Peter Retarrdo. Hardly adult but all of the economic indicators in the US continue to go down the pan!!

I hope he entirely bankrupts America. I hope the dollar becomes as valuable as the Turkish lira when I was working there in the early noughties. I hope the dickheads that elected him are starving, and they rip him to fucking shreds in their rage.

And I hope the clever parts of the EU get their shit together pretty damn pronto, because they’ll fucking need to before the impaler gets back on his horse and rides west again, with no fear of the good ol US of A, because it’s done. Fucked. Over.

Interestingly, during weekend social activities here in Las Vegas, not the slightest mention of the unfolding collapse of the US global position. It seems to me, to be a combination of wilful ignorance/denial along with political tribalism.
