Well, I took all my mud and crud protection gear off my 2014 GSA LC in readiness to fit to my new 2018 GSA, and like a complete twat I’ve misplaced the bolts (put them in a mega safe place - like a squirrel) from my Puig rear hugger.

Do any of you wise gentlemen happen to know, and are familiar with the bolt sizes for this item? One bolt fastens the shaft-drive arm to the strut (arm) and the other is the fore bolt for the rear brake caliper.

Funnily enough, I’ve never been happy with these bolts, as they are plain old Allen bolts, supplied with the hugger and they’re not even stainless, just plated steel. If I can obtain the bolt sizes, thread pitch and length etc I’m inclined to try to get some ‘Gucci’ polished SS, tapered head Torx bolts from somewhere like Probolt.

I know the bolts supplied with the hugger are slightly longer than the ones already fitted on the bike, which is to allow the thickness of the mounts on the hugger.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If I remember in the morning, I'll measure the bolts from the GS Puig hugger that's in a box in my garage.

The two bolts are: 75 x 10 x 1.5 and 40 x 8 x 1.25

However, I assume the shed fairies have also hidden the machined top hat-shaped sleeve which goes on the larger bolt?

As for bling stainless replacements - I understand shiny stainless grades can have problems with shearing strength. That's the sort of force applied to these two bolts.

Thank you Sir... I zip-tied my top-hat sleeve thingy to the hugger, but clearly didn’t take the same care with the bolts, which is unusual for me! I’ll probably find them when I no longer need them.

I did think about the sheering strength of SS... Shame the supplied bolts are so crude in their appearance.

Thank you again for taking the time to send me this info, it is much appreciated. :thumb2
