Anyone been to the Bon Scott memorial weekends at Kirriemuir? If so what's on & is it worth going to?

Me and Christine are deffo goin' but we wur plannin' on drivin' ower and comin' hame. Might change wur plans though. Is there a campsite actually in Kirrie?
 
If we can pesuade Voyager to come wid it be a Bon Voyager weekend? :D
 
...or if Simeus turns up in a French beret will it be a Simeus Le Bon weekend?

Not a lot of people know this but...

Robert Falcon Scott (Scott of the Antarctic) and Edward Wilson trained for their ill-fated trip to the South Pole at nearby Glen Prosen. There's a cairn memorial to them at Dykehead (on the way to Glen Clova for any GOTC attenders).

Feck. I cannae make it noo. That's the same weekend as I'm going to a whisky tasting festival in Germany.

campin at roondie hill just oot side kirrie, food there na bad either. think they r ok wee bikes n tents. on road ta glamis 3 miles south. went ta see ac/dc tribute band in kirrie toon hall aboot 4 years ago,wisna bad. there,s a wee memorial for bonn at the back o the ice cream shop in the sqaure

cheers for that Ronno, a wee sigh see roond ma hame toon,a year or twa ago some numpty cut peter pans arm and flute af wee a hack sa.his mammy fund it under his bed.so enter kirrie with care. had a young lad start with me aboot 3 years ago,on his first trip to kirrie he an his wumin were entertained by a lassie beatin up here man wee a golf club,jist ta the left o peter pan in ur picture.
 
roundy hill campsite's got a good wee pub an restaurant in middle o it that i'd recommend, was fine enough food last time i was there.
Not too sure about accomodation else where but the thrums hotel would prob be best bet for a b+b.

If anybody wants i could make enquiries about prices or group bookins..
