You need a new one Pete so you can take lots of really good quality pictures of your bike with some really boring mountains and stuff in the back ground :D
 
As always, I've tinkered with the trip again (as I do) and I've added a couple of extras for this trip including the fantastic Lassen Volcanic Park. This is going to be an epic trip with lots of bucket list items ticked off. There are no dirt roads and suitable for all types of bikes as long as I can get it into a container!!

Peter, plan is to join main group at Moab. Sue and Judith are booked to fly back from Vegas on the 18th. We were then going to head up to Bonneville and across to Moab.

Re 'bit in the middle'. Girls have a bucket list of places to visit but there is no plan yet. The limousine wine tour in Napa valley was well received though!

Napa Wine tours (Limo wasn't my suggestion - did you see the limovan option? 8 people?) 1 day
Little bit of PCH maybe? 1 day
I would love to show Celia either Lassen or Yosemite - to get a view of the amazing landscapes here. Yosemite may be better as it's on the way...

We are sort of planning a book some blag the others sort of stylee without involving Chris actually Pete. Of course we will be looking at staying in the same places as the rest of the group once we have caught them up :D
 
Just let me know the date when you will join the rest of us so I can sort your lodging's.

I meant to take account of us not being on "his trip" haha as in reduced numbers for a week and also at Santa Rosa....

Not that he was booking our accom that period :)

Bonneville and rattlers

Be warned .. watch out for these guys warming in the morning sun, note the miles to next turn on the way to Ely from Wendover .. the salt on Bonneville sets like concrete, it's a huge area and it's easy to miss your entry on point damhik :)

Chris - I will watch this thread; as you know I'm in a group doing some of your route in October next year and you've given me lots of great advice on my thread

One road I can recommend is near King's Canyon, the 245 goes SW through Pinehurst to Badger. Unlimited bends. I realise you have the 128 planned already and it may be the wrong direction but keep it in mind!
 
I know the road and it's a belter. However, if we did that one we would have to miss out on Kings Canyon which is one of my favourite roads on the planet and the road between the General Sherman Tree and 3 Rivers which has more bends and views than you can shake a stick at:thumb

So many roads, so little time:D

This is my version of the Monument Valley from a couple of months back, stunning place. I think I saw Forest Gump running there after that shot.

<sigh> that looks such a great trip! :cool:

Moab, you do need a couple of days there to get the best out of it, We only managed Dead Horse Point, it was terrific, wish we'd had more time
