Borders Race of the Reivers

A group is trying to get a closed road bill through parliament to hold a TT style race in and around Jedburgh.

An open day is being held this Saturday 27th, with entertainment.

I went around the proposed circuit a few weeks ago - looks to be a good one.

It'd be great if it went ahead, but I can just see the HSE dearies preventing it.

I believe that MSV? are prepared to run the show, but the local organisers aren't keen on handing it over - lock stock etc.

Went round there yesterday, seemed a good turnout.

Seems that they are "96% there" I'm told and they have real hopes of running the first race in August 2013! That's awesome of they can achieve that.

There will aslo be a link on their FB page soon that'll let people join the club membership.

Yea i was there to its looks brilliant to me our own real road race we need to spread the word folks and show support anything to do with bikes must be a bonus....

Anyone know what's happening with the Race of the Reivers ?
It seems to have gone a bit quiet ?

According to todays update on their Facebook page they are hoping to run it next year - they also admit they've picked the Mt Everest of bike sport events to organise.

I was brought up in the borders and would love to see this happen.
